19th April 2008
Windsurfing: The Dip-Felixstowe
Wind Direction: ENE
Wind Stength: approx 15/20
Surf / Sea State: rough
Air Temperature: 7
Sea Temperature: 9
Weather: mainly cloundy
Max Speed: 29.1 (knots - unless stated otherwise)
Distance Covered: 19.5 (Nautical Miles - unless stated otherwise)

We all met at the dip at 11.30 which was not a good idea as it was high water and difficult to launch. The others went and sailed from the golf beach and I went home for dinner.I came back at one and with the tide turned the sea had calmed a little and I launched from the dip with no problems and sailed up to the golf beach.Ian had broken a mast in the shorebreak and 2 others were packing up underpowered.I had afew runs in the waves before heading up into the river to play with the 3 kiters. It was abit hairy entering the river mouth very choppy with a strong tide flowing out.I tried afew runs in the flat water but the direction was not right but I did manage 29.1 kts with a little help from the river!!! I then had several reaches back to the dip which were good it was alot better and the sun even managed to shine for a while. So over 2hrs on the water and not as cold as I thought.I think it's best to wait for lower water and not sail the area at high.
